“Operation Dragonfire: The Underrated Spark that Kept G.I. Joe Burning”

Welcome to The Outpost. I’ve recently been watching GI Joe Operation Dragonfire. This is the 1989 series where DIC took over. It’s also starts up where the 1987 GI Joe the movie left off. As a kid GI Joe the movie was kind of my end from what I can remember as watching the animated series. I did receive a few of the figures from 89-90 as gifts but at this point in my life a was active in work , sports, and parties.

The Dragonfire series did still have some familiar voices such as Chris Collins as Cobra Commander , Morgan Lofting as the Baroness, and they still had Sgt Slaughter. I think this was a really good series and helped set up the next generation of GI Joe. I know there has always been a split between the original Sunbow series and the DIC series for many, but I’ve always enjoyed GI Joe as a whole. I would love to see a new animated series or a live action show with characters in their original outfits.
